General advertised vacancies are advertised on Jobs.wa.gov.au and the department’s Job board, normally for a period of 10 working days, although some specialised technical vacancies can have much longer advertising periods.

To reach a wider audience, we may advertise vacancies in regional newspapers, industry-specific websites, Aboriginal job boards, and university sites, LinkedIn or Seek.
The department also has a Temporary Employment Register for people interested in applying for short term contract employment opportunities with the department. Anyone can apply to the register and you can indicate the type of work you are interested in.
After lodging your resume, you may be contacted to attend an interview if a suitable vacancy becomes available. Your resume will stay on our temporary register for three months, after which time, you will need to reapply.
