Strategic Plan – Towards 2024 in a COVID-19 environment and beyond

This page is for:

The Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety’s strategic plan – Towards 2024 – builds on our purpose of supporting a safe, fair and responsible future for the Western Australian community, industry and resources sector.

Towards 2024 sets out who we are, where we want to go and how we are going to get there.

The plan aligns to our corporate values of being responsive, forward thinking, fair, ethical, transparent and respectful, to enhance the way we work as a regulator, service provider and policy maker.

The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted Western Australian industries and the community and to ensure that DMIRS can continue to play a role in Western Australia’s recovery, Towards 2024 was reviewed and refined to align to the Premier’s focus of:

  1.  delivering critical frontline services and support functions;
  2. driving the State’s COVID-19 response; and
  3. preparing for Western Australia’s economic and social recovery.

The plan’s strategic themes (regulatory practice and reform; customer centric service and skilled, diverse and flexible workforce) will continue to support the government’s goals and priorities, and identifies 14 strategic priorities for the department to focus on until 2024.
